Cosmetic cures

There is no specific beauty regime for me. Being born in a Bengali family, I am endowed with a beautiful body and facial
features. I’m not fond of dieting at all. I try to eat a healthy mix of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes and of course Bengali sweets. I try to stick to a healthy diet and a regular exercise regime and that enhances my beauty.

I am over 30-years-old. I am afraid that the ageing process has started affecting me. How can I look young?

Make small changes to your existing routine, try a few new tricks for a younger looking you. Here are 10 ways to erase the years.

Switch from your daily SPF 15 to SPF 30. Then treat the forgotten parts. So whatever you put on your face, put it on your neck, chest and hands too. That means an SPF with antioxidants in the morning and a retinol at night.

Sip green tea for less damage caused by sunlight. Green tea contains powerful antioxidants that help keep free radicals at bay.

Boost skin health. Taking 1,000mg of Omega-3 fatty acids a day can help dry, rough skin.

Regular use of a body scrub can help rub out the rough, bumpy skin on the back of your upper arms, butt and thighs. To keep follicles from repluging, use a lotion with an exfoliator such as salicylic acid or AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) daily.

Sleeping with your face smooshed into a pillow creates fold lines that eventually become permanent if repeated nightly. Sleeping on your back helps counter the effect of gravity that accumulates during the day.

Hair is dirtiest at the scalp, sop shampooing your scalp will clean the rest of your hair without stripping its natural sheen.Long hair can age you and make you look tired and drawn. Plus, longer hair looks thinner . Cut hair shorter.

Lip gloss brightens your face instantly, even if you’re not wearing colour under it. Choose soft vibrant tones such as rose, berry or apricot with a touch of gold for warmth. Eat an orange a day. To ward off wrinkles, consume 75mg of vitamin C a day. Those who have greater amounts of vitamin C in their diets are less likely to develop wrinkles prematurely.
