Paris unplugged

The style sultans of the world got together for a fabulous week of fashion in Paris with lots of drama but not without design to match. As always, the collections were eclectic, giving birth to not one or two trends but pages full of micro-trends. From sequins to straight mannish lines, from architectural influences to feathery feels, the French fashion capital knew no bounds. Colour (we loved Dries van Noten and Christian Lacroix’s palettes) contrasted monotone (Karl Lagerfeld and Junya Watanabe’s blacks are what we liked best). The Japanese as always came and did their thing but here’s the big news: a design doyen from one of these is coming to Calcutta for a very private affair in about two weeks.
